July for me marks the beginning of Birthday season for me and I have a lot of Birthdays lined up....so I decided to stock up on my cards so that I have enough to send to everyone I know.
I am putting this card up at the following challenges:
- Paru's Card making Challenges - July - Happy Birthday
- Scrapping4fun Challenge #94- Birthday
- The Flower Challenge#10 - Embossing Dry/Heat
- HLS July CAS card - Birthday
- Addicted to CAS challenge #115 - Summer - My card has summer bright colors
- Addicted to stamps and more challenge #251 - Anything Goes
- Double D challenge - A pop of color with Black and White - I have my inspiration from the moodboard.
Its a fairly simple card and took me 1 hour to make it considering that I colored the flower with watercolor pencils. Though, I did use water to blend them initially and so I started with a watercolor cardstock. But then, I was very unhappy with the blending and went back again with the pencils and did some shading on the flower..
So, I heat embossed the flower and colored it with my pencils. I then fussy cut it out and kept it aside ready to mount on the panel. For the front panel, I stamped the leaf from the same stamp set several times using dye ink. I added a little black thread and on top adhered my flower. I glued this panel to a black cardstock making sure it was peeking out from 2 sides only. I added this to my chrome yellow standard A2 size cardbase. I finished my card with the sentiment stamped on vellum and added it to the front of the flower and sprinkled some clear sequins. I hope you liked my simple card with a pop of orange.
