This Too Shall Pass | Mixed Media Canvas using Chalk Paints

Hello everyone
welcome to my blog. Today I have a mixed media canvas along with the tutorial for you all using the newly launched chalk paints from ItsyBitsy. (Please click here to browse the entire range). This canvas is also my Dt Inspiration for the on going challenge at ItsyBitsy where the theme all this month is Projects using New chalk paints......which are really bright and peppy and so much fun to use.

These matt chalk paints are fast drying, give good coverage and are perfect for any kind of surface......which makes them perfect for mixed media projects, home decor or even layouts.
Before, I start I would like to dedicate this canvas to my father who is right now going through a little health issues....so I made this canvas for him...to remind him that this time will soon pass and he will come out as a winner......Also I have used metal findings in this project which are all from my father's hardware stash...which he was very happy to share them with me.....
Now back to my project.....I had an old 9" by 7" writing pad with me and I have used that as my canvas for this project. The newly launched Black Gesso is the primer I chose and it works really well...gives good coverage, its not very thick, dries matt and takes colors well....I encourage you all to try it. I have used some very heavy metal hinges, screws, bolts and other things to build my canvas and to adhere them all I chose Heavy Gel Medium...which is the best adhesive I have used so far.....its gives such strong bond....A must try for every mixed media artist. Its all about chalk paints this month at Itsybitsy and so I have used 3 chalk paints from the new range to add color to my project.....I loved the chalky matt effect it creates.....Its really fun to use....gives good coverage and blends well.....

I have a video tutorial that I am sharing with you all......and I encourage you all to watch it to know how I created my project. It took me 6 hours to make this one and I have tried my best to show you everything I did in this video......I hope you all enjoy it.
I am putting my canvas at the following challenge blogs:-
