Hey guys
Today I am here sharing some handmade envelopes I made for the upcoming festive season. I always stock up on such envelopes and its really comes in handy for Weddings, Birthdays, Diwali or any other festive occasions.
I made this design in 6 colors and it was really fun to see how they look together. I made 1 box coordinating with one of the envelopes....using box tape wastage. All these envelopes are 7" x 3.5" in size and made using white cardstock. The pock is 7" x 2" and the flap measures 7" x 2 3/4".
I made my own watercolor background for my envelopes using color splash sprays from ItsyBitsy. For every envelope I spritzed water and then 2 to 3 sprays on a watercolor paper. I layered these colors to achieve this result. Once thoroughly dry, I did a little stenciling using Tinted Metallic Gold paint and a stencil from ItsyBitsy store.
I have used scrap pattern papers lying in my stash to decorate my envelope. The doily punch is from Martha Stewart...this adds so much interest to my project. ItsyBitsy has a huge range of papers and you can find them in their physical stores in Imperial size. So you will have to cute them according to your requirement...but I think it comes in handy to have big sheets.
I have used a belly band as a closure for all my envelopes. These are 3.6" x 2" in size on the front and back and I have a 1/5" folded to make the band. I have embossed these bands using a sizzix embossing folder and I did this before I folded and glued the band together. I decorated it with strips of gold glitter paper and small doily diecuts which are again from the store. I them embellished them with flowers, leaves and flourishes, jute bows and gold bead twine bow. I also made my flower clusters using tiny flowers from the store and some floral wires. The finishing touches came from sprinkling a little Twinklets diamond dust mixed with iridescent glitter and a BEST WISHES sentiment stamped using Archival Black ink..
For the box, I used the waste part of the tape roll in 2 sizes....4" and 1". I covered both the pieces with white cardstock of the inside and red cardstock on the outside. I then added white gesso on the rims to make them look clean. I sealed 1 side of each roll with a piece of circular chipboard cut to size and used white adhesive to glue them...the gives us the base for the box and base for the lid. To further enhance the box, I added red cardstock on the base and watercolor pattern I made on the outside of the box. For the lid, I added a piece of sunboard which was the size of the opening of the box as a closure of the box. I covered everything with more papers and decorate the lid to co ordinate with the envelope.
Super fun and super easy.....I hope you all like it. Here is a video where you can see it upclose....
