Sunshine - Mixed Media Layout and a free tutorial (DT post for ItsyBitsy)

Hello all you wonderful crafters
I have a mixed media layout to share with you all today.....I love making layouts but rarely can find time. I have so many ideas that I have to sit and single out one single idea for a layout but always land up mixing 2 themes......and this one is no exception.

This layout is a representation of the most fav seasons for me...summer and autumn.... these two seasons show you what nature really has to offer....such vibrant colors in birds, flowers, insects and generally everything around you. I have tried to bring the summery effect with flowers and insects while keeping fall colors intact...Hope you guys like it.

I have a free start to end tutorial here as well as on the ItsyBitsy blog along with a list of supplies used for this project ....click HERE to read the full tutorial.
Here are some more closeups of this project.... where you all see all the textures, sparkle and glitter elements...stamping and ofcourse the gorgeous flowers and butterflies in detail.

I am putting this project up at the following blog challenges:-
  1. Rhedds Creative Spirit October 2018 Challenge - Anything Goes
  2. Mixed Media Place September Moodboard Challenge - The flowers and sunrise have been the major inspiration for this layout.
  3. A inky Mess challenge #24 - Anything Mixed Media Goes
  4. Butterfly Challenge #108 - Spin the wheel with letter S - I have used sequins, spots, scarlet color along with butterflies in my layout.

My Journey - Mixed Media Layout Tutorial

Hello guys
I have a new layout to share with you all today. I have tried to do something different this time....wanted to break my pattern of doing floral shabby chic projects and try a new style....so here is what I made....A travel themed layout with maps, tickets and a dusty grimey background.
I have a tutorial for the same where I show you the entire process and I encourage you to watch the video.
Here are a few more pictures of this layout.....so you can see all the details I added. I had this concept in my mind that I wanted to create....I used the woodgrain paper keeping an old timey wagon in mind which has been everywhere and it covered with dust and grime and little rust..that was the effect I was going for......and very happy to see the end result.

I am putting this project up a the following blog challenges:
  1. More Than Words June Main Challenge - Journey & Map - I have included maps in my layout at multiple places and well as the work Journey.
  2. Mixed Media Place May Challenge - Moodboard - i have included the coral, teal snd brown colors from the moodboard, The moodboard inspired me to do a travel themed layout and I tried to do the same. The metal scissor loops inspired me to include twine loops in my project. i finished it all with some flowers.
  3. HLS June Mixed Media Challenge - Layers- My layout shows layers of colors as well as papers.

A Vintage Love Story- Shabby Chic Decoupage Box

Hello guys
Welcome to my blog...today's project is DT inspiration for ItsyBitsy where the theme all this month is Decoupage. To participate in the ongoing challenge please click HERE. For a full tutorial of this project, please click HERE.
Here are a few pics of my project.
Here I have used crackle medium along with chalk paints from ItsyBitsy to give this amazing texture to my box. The central image is decoupages using Matt decoupage glue and then sealed with varnish.

To give this a vintage feel, I distressed the edges using Archival inks. To give my project a shabby feel, I have used loads of flowers and elements from ItsyBitsy.

I am putting my project for the following challenges:
  1. HLS Mixed Media Challenge - May 2018- Gold
  2. Through the Purple Haze challenge Challenge#144 - Add Pearl or Lace
  3. More Mixed Media Challenge - Anything Goes optional pink
  4. ARTastic Challenge Blog - Hello May - the entire artwork has inspired my project. I have included the bird, the flowers and the color scheme in my work.
