Its A Boy Mini Album | Scrapbook | Carta Bella Rock A Bye Baby Boy Collection

Hello Guys

Welcome back to my blog...and today I have a new Mini album/ Scrapbook for you all. I am breaking my pattern and after a while I have made an album for a Baby boy....this was super fun to make. This album is 8 1/4" x 81/4" in size and the spine is 2 3/4" and holds 5 interactive pages. In all this album can hold 75 plus pictures and has many jouranalling tags and spots. Since this album was made on commission, the name of the child is added on the cover along with his birth date.
I have used Papericious Color Conception paper pack and Carta Bella Rock a Bye Baby boy collection pack along with plain cardstock to build this album. A variety of picture sizes can be used right from 3" by 4" to 5" by 7" and I have also added tags on the mats for accurate picture placement. This album also features a couple of pop up elements while make it more interesting....for me the family tree is the deal sealer.
The front of this album is decorated with beautiful paper layering and chipboard embellishments which I have gold heat embossed. I have never made this kind of a cover and to be honest its one of my fav as it is easy to handle and doesn't add much bulk to the album. I have used ribbon as the closure for the album which forms a fun bow. I kept the spine and the back simple so that it doesn't hinder the album when opened.
I have used chipboard elements, stickers and ephemera from the Carta Bella Rock a Bye baby collection along with Papericious Ohh Baby theme chippis and enamel dots. So the album is not girly but is cute at the same time.
Here is a video walk through of this album...hope you guys enjoy it.

Welcome! Little one - Handmade Card.

Hello guys
Its all about BABIES this month and I have a handmade card this time to celebrate the arrival of the Little One/s which fill our hearts with love and joy......so here is what I made and this is also my DT inspiration for Lets Craft and Create Challenge blog where the theme is Child's Play all this month. Purple is by far my favorite color and since the baby themed card/ project are usually Blue and Pink, I thought to do something a little out of the box and made a card in my fav color - Purple!
You all can join in the blog challenge which will be running all month by clicking HERE.
Now, back to the card. I started with 270 gsm White cardstock cut to standard A2 size card base. For the front panel, I have used pattern paper from Papericious - Whimsical 6" X 6"paper pack. I have cut the paper to the size 4"by 51/4"and then dry embossed it with Sizzix embossing folder. Later I tied a White satin ribbon on the lower part of the paper and finished it into a cute bow. I mounted this panel on my front of the cardbase using some white fun foam sheet.
I did some die cutting now using Cottage Cutz Baby border die on a Purple cardstock and White cardstock. I mixed the 2 die cuts and adhered it on the front panel above the satin ribbon. To make the center element, I diecut few shapes from white, purple and design papers from the Whimsical collection using Spellbinders Nestabilities Scalloped Labels one, ItsyBisty Nested Stitched Circles and Sizzix basic dies. I added them on the panel using some foam tape to give it a little dimension.
On the center, I added a cute Teddy Bear Sticker from Handmades Sticker collection. I do not have the name as its an old collection and I cannot find it anywhere.
I finished my card with a Welcome sentiment from Mudra craft stamps stamped on a white cardstock with Grape Jelly dye ink from Memento and then matted it with some more design paper in green from the same paper pack. The inside of the card is kept pretty clean. I do not know why its looking so blue in the pictures...in real its Purple and so royal looking...But that's Camera with its own drawbacks.
I am putting this card up at the following blog challenges:

Wishing you Safe Travels - See through shaker card.

Hello all  you wonderful people
Today I have a card for you. I have got really addicted to watercoloring technique and am making as many as I can. So this card is again for a special reason....I have a workout friend who is leaving for USA forever and Monday is her last last with us. So this one is for you Upasana.... I have know her only for a month...and got attached to her...you just connect so easily with some people. She was all emotional and so I have used a sentiment very carefully for this card.....I cleverly swapped a Farewell or W'll miss you with a "Wishing you Safe Travels"

The inspiration for this card comes from Tulle Shaker Cards by Jennifer Mcguire and you can know more about this by clicking the link HERE. I really loved the way she used Tulle...but I have used Clear acetate instead. So this my first try at this type of shaker card and it surely is fun.

I am putting this card up at
  1. Dl.ART - June Linky Challenge - Anything Goes
  2. Addicted to stamps and more- Challenge #246 - Anything Goes
  3. Penny Black and more challenges- June- Anything Goes
  4. The Ribbon Girl- June card challenge-Anything goes
  5. Simon says stamp - Wednesday challenge- Emboss It

  9. HLS June Watercolor Challenge - optional twist Masking
  10. Paru's Card making Challenge June- Interactive
So more on to my card, I stamped and heat embossed some flowers, buds and leaves on a watercolor cardstock using some Clear embossing powder. I used distress inks to watercolors all my images and once they dried, I fussy cut them out.
To make this panel, I started with a standard A2 size card base(A) and 1 white cardstock piece cut to A2 size (B). I stacked them and arranged my spellbinders die and ran it thrice through my bigshot. Then, I cut a acetate sheet bigger than my frame and box folded it in half (Basically it helped me to give room for the shaker elements to move freely inside the window  I have just folded the acetate instead of using 2 pieces so there is no tape on the exposed side. Also, I gave it a small 1/8" gap between the 2 folds lining my edges. I hope I am able to convey well. Rest 3 sides are sealed with dimension foam..) I filled my window with some fun sequins, flowers and clear sparkle from Papericious and then sealed it with foam tape on 3 sides. I adhered this shaker window to my A panel carefully so that one no foam tape is visible from any where and the shaker window is correctly lined up on the edge. The frame is rhombus in shape but the shaker panel is square inside.

Then added more foam tape everwhere else and added the B part over it carefully.I added little black splatters on the front panel using black watercolor and then started layering my flowers and leaves. I did stamp my buds with Memento Dye ink by masking off the flowers and buds and quickly watercolored them as well.
Finished my card with the sentiment stamped with Black dye ink on white cardstock and sqeuins.
I hope you all like my card and will try it out.
That finished my card. I have a small shaker video for it and you can watch it to see how fun this is.
