Baby Girl Birthday Decor Ideas.

Welcome back to my blog. I have a new birthday decor idea for you.....it was a custom order with a particular color theme. Below is the inspiration picture which actually is the cute dress for the Birthday girl.

So, I came up with a banner and a badge for the backdrop and a cute little crown for the little princess keeping the color scheme in my mind. Here are few pictures of the projects

The badge is 16"in diameter and decorated with handmade flowers. I made these flowers without any dies....I drew the petals and fussy cut each layer. Every large flower has 4 large and 3 medium layers and the medium flowers has 4 medium and 3 small layers made using handmade paper from ItsyBitsy. I have colored the flowers using memento dye inks - Dandelion and Tangelo. Further, the centers are dusted with sparkle dots also from ItsyBitsy.

Also there is a chipboard embellishment which is also from ItsyBisty which I have heat embossed with gold and white. The number 1 is made using chipboard by me and covered with white handmade paper. I have used Prima Marketing stencil to decorate  the number. I have used Distress inks - Spiced Marmalade and Fossilized Amber to use over the stencil. The badge is made by layering yellow, gold, white and orange cardstock. A white lace is run around the circumference of the banner. To finish the project, I added few butterflies and leaves and twirls.

The banner that I have made is 8 feet in length and has the girl's name TASHVEE in the center. The banner is also uses the same elements like flowers, butterflies, stencil work and laces like the badge, 

The alphabets are ornate alphabets from ItsyBitsy which I have gold heat embossed twice.

The flourishes are MFT diecuts which I have cut from Gold glitter paper also from ItsyBitsy. I have punched holes and reenforced them with eyelets and passed satin ribbon through to form a banner.

The banners are also layers similar to the badge with orange, white and yellow cardstocks. They measure around 4" is breadth and 5" in height.

The last project is a cutesie crown for the little princess. The crown is handdrawn and is 16"in circumference and 4"in height. The crown is made using yellow foam and orange cardstock. I have used white satin ribbon for closure and I have sandwiched it between the foam and cardstock. This made sure nothing pokes the baby or causes any discomfort.

Further I dry embossed a white cardstock and layered it on the crown. The finishing touches came from a strip of gold glitter paper at the base and circular diecuts at the 4 apex of the crown. I added a number 1 as the finishing detail. I kept it as simple and as light as I could.

Happy 1st birthday

Hello all
Its been long since i have blogged about something. Though I have been adding pics and products on facebook....I haven't really posted anything here. Its new month and new challenges are announced and it makes me all excited to make something new...its fun to work within the given guidelines...kinda tests my limits and makes me think a little different.

So here is a new card which I have made to participate at the monthly challenge at Peek-a-boo designs. They have completed one year and the challenge is to make a card using red, gold and number 1 with a additional twist using stenciling or 3d Layered projects or dash of glitter or your own stamped background.

My take on this Recepie challenge is the above card. I have incorporated glitter in the form of glitter pens and chunky glittered number, gold sequins and gold microbeads, red stenciling and red cardstock and I have made my own background on the shaker window using hearts from peek-a-boo stamp set.

I am also linking this card to Paruscardmakingchallenges for this month which says a hint of gold, creative with stamps Sentiment challenge for october and A blog named hero october challege - Geometric.

Also, I am putting my card up at Lulupu october challenge - bling a ding with a stamping twist. which says we need to more than a sentiment and since i have stamped some hearts on the card....I thought to put it up for this challenge.

I started with stenciling using Itsybitsy stencil and Memento Lady bug dye ink. Then I made a shaker window using some acetate sheet and a cardstock frame. I made my own background on the frame using heart stamp from Peek a boo Place Photo stamp. I used the little heart from this stamp set as I wanted to add hearts and I thought to use this stamp set and put it to a different use than what we usually use it for.

I scribbled inside these hearts using gold pen and then added Itsybitsy gold sequins and Itsybitsy microbeads inside the shaker window. For the sentiment on the card, I tore some vellum and then stamped the sentiment using Black Archival ink pad. The sentiment set is from JustRite Grand handwritten sentiments, The number one is made using Black chipboard which I cut and added some chunky glitter again from Itsybitsy. I finished the card front using some gold and black sequins

For the inside, I didnt do much except stamp the sentiment on white cardstock using Itsybitsy Black Pigment ink pad.the sentiment is from Peek a boo Happy birthday to you stamp set. It got a bit smudged and I had to go over it with a microtip black pen.

Tiaras

How are you all doing? Its another rainy day with some strong showers in Mumbai today...very cloudy and very dull. Well everything can be fixed with a little craft and so I decided to do a post on tiaras. this was however pending since many days and had to done soon.
So for all of you who sent me meaasges about tiaras....this one is for you.

Flower tiaras are incredibly easy to make and look pretty when adored by almost anyone. You can never go wrong with flowers and a little ribbon. To make tiaras, we dunt need much supplies, however I will give you a little gist of what you might need.

Supplies:

Floral wire
Green tape
Mulberry flowers and buds
Pollens
Mulberry leaves
Satin ribbon or organza ribbon and any other ribbon
Wire cutters and wire pliers

I have listed basic supplies but yet again you can add pearls and little charms and anything else you like. You need not worry if you cant find mulberry paper flowers....use anything you can get your hands on.

We start by first making a circle with the wire and make is so big that it will crown your head. Cut the wire an inch shorter and make little loops at ends. You can even double your wire if you think your wire is too thin. I always double mine or just buy thicker wires. That way, they dunt fold under the weight from the flowers.
Once you do that, start coiling your wire with green tape and simultaneously adding flowers and leaves to the tiaras. I add my pollens to the tiaras by adding them to the wire and covering it with green tape. I add this to the tiaras while I am adding flowers.
Once you do that, you can arrange your flowers as they are wired and are more pliable now. You can add ribons at the ends so the one who adorns it can tie a neat bow at the end.

Birthday Wishes - Gift shaker card.

How are you all? i hope you all are doing fabulous. Today I am posting a shaker card which is filled with sequins and handmade shaker elements. It carries a colorful birthday sentiment with it, which is stamped using 3 colors applied on the same stamp.I am sending this card to the this month challenge at A Blog Named Hero,Creativity with stamps, Peek-a-boo designs and Craft Stamper.

• Peek-a-boo Designs - Anything Goes ( I have used an old stamp sets and vellum and sequins are new stash.
• A Blog Named Hero - Vellum is used as card base.
• Creativity with stamps - Manly Card (This card is made using masculine colors like blues and purples)
• Craft Stamper - Lets Get Inky ( I have used sketchpens and Dye inks

I have used a clear vellum for the base of this card which is in standard A2 size of  4 . 25"x 5 .5 card base. I then went ahead and cut another card base of same size from white heavyweight cardstock. I then cut the white cardbase into 2 parts. Resized one part of the cardstock by 1/8" on all sides and adhered it inside the vellum cardbase,

Now for the card front, I made shaker gift elements using some paper tapes, scraps of cardstock and stamps from GIFTS - HOTP Small Stamp Set. I glued purple, blue and lime green polka dotted paper tapes on scrap cardstock pieces. Then I stamped them using 2 gift stamps using Memento tuxedo Black ink and then fussy cut them. I made 6 gifts of 2 different sizes in 3 colors. Then, I also stamped and fussy cut some bow stamps from the same set.

Now for the card front, I made shaker gift elements using some paper tapes, scraps of cardstock and stamps from GIFTS - HOTP Small Stamp Set. I glued purple, blue and lime green polka dotted paper tapes on scrap cardstock pieces. Then I stamped them using 2 gift stamps using Memento tuxedo Black ink and then fussy cut them. I made 6 gifts of 2 different sizes in 3 colors. Then, I also stamped and fussy cut some bow stamps from the same set.

I cut the white cardstock frame which is 1/4" thick on all sides to make the shaker window. I glued it to acetate sheet which is 41/8"x 5 3/8" in size. Then I added foam adhesive on the edges of the frame carefully not to show any from the sides. I brushed the window with nti static powder before adding shaker elements to avoid them sticking inside.

For the back, I used the other part of the white cardstock I cut earlier and stamped it with Birthday Wishes sentiment from Birthday wishes stamp set from Inkadinkado using Electric Lime dye ink from Ranger, Bahama Blue and Grape Jelly dye ink from Memento. I then filled up the window with green, blue and purple sequins, gifts and bows I made and then attached it to the vellum cardfront. I drew a few swirls using waterproof sketchpens to add some color to the frame of shaker window.

I added 3 gifts to the inside of the card to complete it. That's it and our cute shaker card is ready. I hope you all liked it. Thank you for visiting me.

Happy Birthday(shaker balloon card)

Hey all

Its getting hotter by the day, so please drink enough fluids to keep yourself hydrated. I did a new card today which is all pastel and all sequins.....its another shaker card but this time it carries shaker balloons and Happy Birthday sentiment.

My card is inspired by Halak Shah's card which she made for Peek-a-boo Inspire yourself challenge. Her card inspired me to use pastel colors, sequins, washi and paper tapes and hearts and stars which I have accomodated in the form of sequins.
I am putting this card up for the Peek-a boo May challenge.

To begin, I made 5 small shaker balloons using pale yellow cardstock, acetate sheet and pretty pretty sequins. I have used distress inks to color the balloon edges and the colors I used are Worn lipstick, Spun sugar, Shaded lilac, Peacock feathers and Squeezed Lemonade. I fussy cut all the balloons using a pen knife.

I filled the balloons with matching color sequins. I used few blue flat sequins, purple cone sequins, red heart confetti sequins,yellow flat sequins and pink star confetti sequins. I was inspired by the hearts and starts stamp on Halak's card and so I used star and heart confetti in my card.

I adhered these balloons onto a pale yellow card base which is 5. 25 " square card. I also added bakers twine in matching colors to the balloons. I finished the card with Happy Birthday sentiment from Grand Handwritten Sentiments from Just Rite stamps. I stamped it on the same pale yellow cardstock and mounted it on black cardstock for a better effect.

 Embellished the front with some gold chevron washi tape, pink chevron washi tape and violet polka dotted paper tape. Added few silver sequins to finish the front. I have distressed the card front with the cutter to make it look worn out.
Now, Its a pull out pocket card. To make the pocket, I simple used a 5.5" x 11" black cardstock and score it in the center. I folded and glued the cardstock together on 3 sides while leaving one side open to fill in the card. I adhered my card front on the black cardstock pocket using foam tape. I kept the pocket opening on the right side of the card.

 For the pull out card, I used a pale yellow cardstock which is 4. 75 " x 4. 75 " on which I added thin strips of gold chevron pattern washi tapes at the two ends. I also added balloonc which I cut and distressed with peacock feathers, shaded lilac and spun sugar and drew strings using black waterproof pen. Finished the inside with a happy birthday sentiment near the strings and little sequins to the balloons.

To enable the pulling out of the card, I added a little black cardstock tab and a lilac bakers twine bow to it.
