Today I am sharing some explosion boxes I made a while back. I made 180 of these altogether....80 were made for a client in Mumbai and 100 made their way to Hyderabad.
These are fun explosion boxes and they can hold 200 to 250 gms of sweets in the center. They are embellished with beautiful gold embellishments and handmade flowers...super cute to look at. It took me a months time to get all of these outta my door.....it was a lot of hardwork. here are a few pictures and some small clips. I hope you all like it as much as I do..
How are you all today? I hope you all are having a fab week. So I have yet another Gift box with a matching Envelope for the upcoming festival Raksha Bandhan. This is the second one I have made and its similar to the first one with the only difference being the color of the project.
Importance of Raksha Bandhan
Raksha Bandhan is a Hindu secular festival which is a celebration of sibling love and to be very specific Brother- Sister bond.Raksha Bandhan in Sanskrit literally means "the tie or knot of protection". The word Raksha means protection, while Bandhan is the verb to tie. On this day, The sister comes to Brother’s house and ties a sacred thread (Rakhi or an amulet)on this wrist in turn seeking protection from all evil for a lifetime. This is followed with a prayer or a song while putting red vermillion dot (Tilak) on his forehead and performing Aarti . An aarti is nothing but a tray with lighted lamp which ritually rotated clockwise around the brother's face, along with the prayer and well wishes.She then feeds him sweets which traditionally are ladoos, barfis and pedas (Indian Sweets)and in the recent times we feed them Chocolates and sometimes even diet sweets….lol. In return, along with the promise to protect her all her life, the brother also gives her gifts and money.
My husband has 2 sisters (1stcousins) and they would be coming over for Raksha Bandhan to my house and for them I have made this money envelope and a gift box to add a small gift and some money.
The box is 5" by 5" by 3" in size while the envelope is 7" by 3.5" in size and is a 3 fold envelope. The is a belly band to hold the money and the center part is empty to add our message. The top part is left empty and we can keep it that way or add a nice poem or some stamping. Here are some close up shots of the envelope.

I am back with a new project today which are handmade announcement boxes for a Baby Girl. Now these boxes were custom made to fit 250gms of handmade chocolates. I have made everything for this box from scratch and it was fun......

I have few pics and a video I made before I sent out these boxes.....some might not be so good as I took them in hurry. If you want a tutorial for this plz let me know and I will be happy to do one for you. Now, the supplies used to make these cuties are listed below and you can go throught them.
I would like to thank Itsybitsy for their promptness in delivery of the papers which was incredibly crucial for this project and they got the papers to me in just 24hrs....So thank you Rashmi Harish and team Itsybitsy.
I have used White handmade paper to cover these boxes on the inside as well as outside. The bright pink cardstock is from Fabriano and the other one is from Itsybitsy. The flourish diecuts are made using MFT(My Favorite Things) Leafy Flourish die. The other diescuts are made using Sizzix dies and embossing folder.
The tags are diecut using Itsybitsy dies and then given a little color using Picked Raspberry distress ink also from Itsybitsy. The other little tag is fussy cut by me. I have used twine to tang the 2 tags and the box. the boxes are embellished using baby girl wooden embellishments and I have used different ones on all boxes. I got them in an assorted pack from A1 craft.
For the inside, I have added a little color using polka dotted pink paper tapes. Also I did add a little pink tissue paper shredding to bring in more color. I used baby pink in few and dark pink in the rest. The box is held together using Pink satin ribbon from Itsybitsy as well.
I have printed the messages using my printer on a white cardstock for the tags as well as for the inside.
